1. An Unlucky Man Who Got Fired:

My coworker was recently put on an official warning for harassing women in the office. He’d ask them out over and over again, and when told no, he would demand reasons and then get verbally nasty. We came in today to find him gone, his account deleted, his desk cleared, and a very angry boss.

It appears that said coworker went to Human Resources to file an official complaint of discrimination: “Women won’t date me, and I’m in emotional distress as a result; therefore, this warning is retaliation and illegal.”

When told that isn’t how anything works, he got very angry with the HR representative and proceeded to throw things at her.

Instant dismissal for gross misconduct. Well done, ex-coworker, for coming up with the most bizarre complaint we’ve ever heard of!

2. A Funny story you would like:

So in my hometown, there was a woman known as “Black Betty” she was known on the streets as the “plus sized woman in overalls who stole from the old sugar daddy men.”

Anyway, Black Betty was looking to make some extra money, and in my hometown. There’s some places that people have let go, so they’re run down and abandoned.

Well, Black Betty went into one of these parking lots, and some of the parking meters would wobble around and the hole in the ground would be larger than the pole.

She was at this parking meter and she pulled the whole meter up out of the ground, took off and took it to the junk yard.

She gets to the junk yard and asks them to help her get the money out of it. They tell her they will in a minute if she could wait outside.

They call the police, and they show up to the junk yard. There’s meter Betty standing by the door with the parking meter in her hands.

The city went and took up all the loose parking meters after that, she got released from jail and went back to robbing old men who picked her up in the street.

3. A Funny story of A New Mother:

I was in a hurry to go home after my delivery. After the five days stay, I was about to get discharged on the fifth day. I was talking to my brother. We sat on the sofa. When the doctor finally let me go, I got up with the help of my brother. And walked out.

My mother told me from behind, 'Take your baby!’ I looked at my baby who was still on the bed. I laughed knowingly.

She asked, 'You forgot your baby, did you?’

I laughed sheepishly as my mom carried my baby and followed us. It was indeed a very new experience. At that moment I forgot that I was a mother and had to carry my daughter everywhere. We all laughed.

4. The License That Disappeared — And Maybe Saved Some Lives:

I see stories on here about bad bosses often, so I wanted to share this story of a very good boss with a little something extra. This was in April 2011 during the tornado outbreaks. I worked as a receptionist and legal assistant at a small law office. The attorney and I were the only employees.

My boss was great to me. She was a no-nonsense type of person and was firm but cared tremendously for her employees. We had become good friends over the past four years.

On the morning of April 27, I drove to work. The lightning was fierce — very scary. I arrived at work safely. I saw [Boss] listening to a weather radio, and she looked worried. She saw me and started talking about the impending storm.

A lady who worked in the office next door came bursting in.

Lady: “There’s a tornado on the ground twenty minutes from here. Downstairs now!”

We rushed downstairs to join several other folks who worked in the building. Everyone looked scared. Some time passed, and we went back upstairs. It seemed the threat was over.

[Boss] went into her office and shut the door. She came back out several minutes later.

Boss: “You know, I lived in Kansas for a few years, and we got watches and warnings frequently. But today, I am more frightened about what’s coming our way. You have a family, as do I, and I have made the decision to close at 11:00. Don’t worry; I will pay you for the whole day. There are two more rounds of these storms coming. I want us to be prepared and somewhere safe before they get here. You are not just an employee; you are my friend. So, cancel all appointments for today, and let’s get out of here.”

I did so. As we were leaving:

Boss: “Do you have a safe place for you and your family to go tonight? If not, you and your family are welcome to come to my house. I have a basement, and [Her Husband] is fixing it up right now. I will have board games, magazines, and food for everyone. My family is also coming, so it may be a little crowded, but I think it will be safe for us.”

Me: “I appreciate the offer, but the kids and I are going to stay in a hotel in town.”

Boss: “Okay, then, but if anything happens, come to my house. You know where I live. Just come on don’t worry about calling or anything.”

I thanked her again, and she gave me a hug.

Boss: “Oh, and no matter what happens tonight, I want you to take tomorrow off. I will pay you for it. Please get your kids somewhere safe.”

I went by the school to pick my kids up since they were dismissing early, and we went home and packed a few bags. We got some food and other essentials to take with us to the hotel. We still had adequate time, so I dropped by to check on some of my friends and see if they had somewhere safe to be. Thankfully, everyone did.

We got to the hotel in town, I went inside to check in, and I realized that I did not have my driver’s license. I started to panic. I went all through my purse, and I checked the car. It was nowhere to be found. I felt defeated, and I thought about driving back home and seeing if I could find my driver’s license as I didn’t want to be driving without it, but that would take too long. I decided to take [Boss] up on her offer.

About twenty-five minutes from [Boss]’s house, my kids asked if we could stop at a gas station and pick up some more snacks and drinks. I said yes, but we needed to hurry. As I reached into my wallet to pull out cash, I saw something. It was my driver’s license in plain sight. How did I miss that?

We went into the store to get our snacks and drinks, and as soon as we came back outside and got in the car, the skies opened up. Round two was here.

We weren’t that far from [Boss]’s house, so I was just gonna try to make it, but a few miles up the road, I saw something else: a hotel. Thankfully, they had a vacancy, so my kids and I settled in for the night at that hotel. We watched the weather for hours until the power went out. It was a stormy, scary night.

I got a few phone calls later on from people telling me that round three brought a tornado, and it had hit the town where the first hotel was that I’d planned to stay in originally. I was in shock, but since there was no power, I couldn’t see the news.

The next day, my phone rang at about eight o’clock in the morning. It was [Boss].

Boss: “[My Name], are you okay? I just saw on TV that the tornado hit your town. I saw that some hotels were heavily damaged by the tornado. And I wasn’t sure which one you were staying at.”

I explained to [Boss] what had happened with the driver’s license and our plan to go to her house for the evening, but that the storm had come and we’d had to seek refuge at a different hotel on the way to her house.

[Boss] told me that her house did not get any damage, so I decided to go see if our home had any damage. I had to take the back ways to get to my house due to all the storm damage. When I arrived at my home, my power was still on, and there was no damage. I found out later that the tornado had come within two miles of my home. The hotel I’d originally planned to stay in was hit.

[Boss] later told me I could go ahead and take the next day off with pay, as well, because my hometown looked like a war zone, and it was the saddest, most heartbreaking thing I’ve ever seen.
